Hey gang. Are you an aspiring or a struggling leetle artist? Want some help with your latest leetle masterpiece? Why not post it here with your concerns? I'm sure with a little polish, it'll be super-fantastic! Yay!

I haven't even gotten off the drawing board on anything, but I have a few questions.
Do you make them in paint? For the moving ones, which have several different frames (?), how do you that? Do you have to use a special program, and upload it completed? I have not even figured out how to make anything the right size yet. (It's tough being 48 and trying to master anything on the computer. I'm still working on getting the clock right on the VCR.) |

Alright deary, here's what we're going to have you do. (You probably already know most of this.)
Open up MS Paint. Look on the menu bar at the top of the screen for 'image' then under that drop down menu, select attributes. Set the width and height of the image to 32 pixels. You should have a teeny leetle square in which you can work. You can make your leetle smaller, but no larger. Click on the magnifying glass tool in the tool box and zoom in as far as you can. This makes it easier to get your art crisp and tight. I recommend using the line tool if you're not so hot on drawing free hand. Left click once and you will place a single pixel. Left click and hold the button down and you will be able to move your cursor and draw a line. Lift up on the button and the line will set. I like the line tool because it gives you a great deal of precision with the lines you place. Once you have something drawn, you can save it and upload it to Iaza.com. That's the site I use to add a transparent layer or combine frames to make an animation. Transparency is an option under the header 'transform' on that site, and animate is found under 'combine.' You don't need a special program to make moving leetles. I can't wait to see what you come up with! EDIT - I could also use a leetle advice. I don't know what to release next. Hehehe. Thank you. Actually, I didn't know any of that. Okay, I uploaded something, but I can't figure out how to post it here. Ummm, I figured it out. Who would have thought that the IMG box would actually be what I needed to use? ![]() I hope you can tell that it is supposed to look like an ornament. The white is supposed to be an attempt at light reflecting on it. I am sure it would look better with more detail, and probably slightly angled, but I was impressed that I managed to get anything at all. (I tried to do a flower in a pot, a rabbit in a hat, a traffic light, and a bunch of others. Nothing looked even remotely like what I wanted it to look like.) I love all your new leetles, and the old ones too. You are very talented and creative. I would have a hard time deciding. |

That's because shading does marvels! Do you know how to make your own colors on ms paint?
With a little work, that could be a leetle! <3 |

I can see the ornament! I think it needs a longer/bigger hook in proportion to the ornament itself, but then all of our ornaments have quite the long hooks. I have no help to give for anything technical, though, as I can't get one simple concept to work for me either. *throws confetti for you* @Marri - I like the pum-diddly-umpkin bestest personally. ...is that a pink grenade? |

No, it's a.... love disperser? >.>
@Lucy - Okay, firstly, it's best to always save things as either a .png or a .bmp - you don't get any color distortion. If you double click a color box, it'll pull up a color picker. For now, try using halftones between colors to shade. (There's other ways of doing this, but let's start here.) I have leetles ADD This post has been edited by Marrionetta on Oct 8 2009, 02:47 PM |

That's very cute! Remember, maximum image dimensions are 32x32!~
You might also try to make the frames glide a little more evenly. If you would like some help, I'd be glad to edit that a titch for ya. <3 |

Ooops, that's 37x32....
And as for the animation, this one here was kind of a rough draft, but if you want to tinker with it a little, go right ahead. |

How about you post the resized background and the kitty on the broom as separate pieces in one image document. We'll start work from there, sans animation. :3

I think maybe the box should be open a bit, and maybe not have the moving letter animation.

Kittehfrrrrrr:
![]() Couple o' things going on here. I made the background a bit darker, to more closely resemble a night sky. On the other side of kitteh, you'll see enlargements of what I did to the stars instead of keeping them pure white. I also added more of them in varying sizes. Also, refrain ALWAYS from using the stock colors on MS paint. (You can change them by going to colors > edit colors.) Below, you'll see a junkload of frames I made, moving the kitty over three pixels at a time. Don't get scared, you don't have to do nearly as many by yourself, that's just my inner animation snob. XD (If I were to redo this, I'd move Mr. Kitteh over by four pixels at a time instead of three, cutting down on frames, filesize, and patience required.) ![]() Next, I saved the frames in leetle cropped files like this. This is frame 8, in case you were wondering. ![]() Lastly, I crammed it all together on Iaza. This one loops well, and the speed is one frame for every 1/10th of a second. You don't have to use my final verion, this was just meant to help you out. If you'd like to use this verion, you may, I have no problem with that. ^^ I hope you benefited from this silly leetle retool. |

I love all of the Kilroys, but I think in the spirit of Kilroy, the second one is best.
